On Friday I accepted a full time position in the Underwriting Department at Phoenix in Enfield. I am officially in insurance. I officially make more than my age, and am fully vested in a 401K plan, with stock options, and for the first time in nearly 5 years, I have health insurance. I officially have moneys enough for 1st, last and a security deposit for a share somewhere in the City. I could leave tonight but I am sitting and waiting and working my new benefits for all that theyre worth until the end of the year. When I will also have enough for at least one of two months of rent just in case finding a job is not that simple. I spent the better part of my Saturday in either of the Villages walking behind women that struck me as beautiful. I have the tendency to trip over my feet almost as flailingly as I trip over my words. Soon I will be able to walk behind them every weekend. And someday Ill be able to ask them their names. I watched two boys on bikes today ride the opposite way in one way rush hour traffic. They smiled and jeered insults at each other as they weave-raced between the cars and lights. Children are fearless. This is a good thing. .
